How to Control the Dual ESC Two Sides Separately

As Flipsky ESCs are widely used in different fields like ebike, escooter, eskateboard, efoil, ejet, machines and robotics etc., some customers may have the needs of controlling the dual esc's two sides separately.

For Flipsky Dual FSESC4.20, we designed a toggle CAN switch for two sides synchronous or asynchronous running. When the switch is turned ON, both sides of the dual-drive ESC can run synchronously, and when the switch is turned OFF, each side can run separately per your needs like different RPM, direction etc..

While, if the toggle switch is aging or malfunctioning after using some time, it is difficult for customers to repair. So change the design for other dual escs and remove the CAN switch.

For dual escs without CAN ON/OFF switches in PCB board, please turn off the connection of two sides through Vesc_Tool to meet with the separate control requirement.

Step 1: Set "Multiple VESCs Over CAN" on the master side to "False"

Select "Master side ESC (1st)" in the "CAN-Devices" column - click "VESC Remote" - Set "Multiple VESCs Over CAN" on the master side to "False" - Write setting data.

Step 2: Set "Multiple VESCs Over CAN" on the slave side to "False"

Select "Slave side ESC (2nd)" in the "CAN-Devices" column - click "VESC Remote" - Set "Multiple VESCs Over CAN" on the master side to "False" - Write setting data.

When the "Multiple VESCs Over CAN" of two sides have been changed to "False", the ESCs' both sides can be controlled separately through controller different receivers.

If the customer needs synchronous control, change "Multiple VESCs Over CAN" to "True" on the "VESC Remote" interface for both the Master Side and Slave Side of ESC, write the setting data, and then set the parameters.
