VX5 Remote Upgrade: How to Fix Unlock & Throttle Problems?

If your VX5 remote controller experiences unlock failure or throttle anomalies following a firmware upgrade, these issues can typically be resolved through throttle calibration. This blog post provides a step-by-step guide to help you through the process. This information is for reference purposes only.

1.Unlock Failure

If, after the upgrade, the remote controller does not respond to unlock and short presses of any buttons are ineffective, try activating it via throttle calibration.

First, long-press the Settings button to enter the settings menu. Then, select "Throttle Calibrate" and short-press the Settings button to enter the throttle calibration screen.

Short-press the Settings button again to begin adjusting the throttle and brake trigger values. Then, pull both the throttle trigger and brake lever fully, and release them.

Short-press the Power button to confirm, then short-press the Power button twice more to return to the home page. Finally, try pushing the throttle to check whether the unlock status has been restored.

2.Throttle Progress Bar Anomalies

When the remote controller and receiver are connected, if the throttle and brake progress bars display abnormally and the controls are unresponsive, you need to disconnect the receiver from the remote controller. On the main interface, the absence of signal bars in the upper-left corner indicates that the receiver is disconnected.

Then, long-press the Settings button to enter the settings menu. Select "Throttle Calibrate" and short-press the Settings button to enter the throttle calibration screen.

Short-press the Settings button again to start adjusting the throttle and brake trigger values. Pull both the throttle trigger and brake lever fully, then release them.

Reconnect the receiver — the solid blue indicator light confirms a successful connection, and the signal bars reappear on the remote controller’s display. Try pressing the function buttons, pulling the throttle trigger, and pushing the brake lever to verify that the remote controller is operating normally.
